The Struts are an English rock band from Derby, England. Formed in 2010, the band is signed to Virgin EMI, a division of Universal Music Group, and released their debut album Everybody Wants in 2014, which charted at No. 52 in the United Kingdom. Nina Francis
Nina Francis is a promising young singer-songwriter and an accomplished guitarist. Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 after winning the first season of American Idol, and has since been established as “The Original American Idol.” Her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and became the best-selling single of 2002 in the United States. She became the runner-up of World Idol the following year. Clarkson’s debut studio album, Thankful (2003), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. It was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) while selling over 4.5 million copies worldwide. Its lead single, “Miss Independent,” became an international top-ten hit.

In celebration of his 100th birthday this year, The Old Globe will honor Founding Director Craig Noel and his many contributions to the world of theatre and the culture life of San Diego with Craig100, a special evening of memories and performances. The one-night-only event will celebrate Noel’s immeasurable accomplishments in the local and national art scenes, including founding and growing The Old Globe as an influential independent producing organization; launching the successful Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program; and creating San Diego Junior Theatre, still operating in Balboa Park today. Performers will bring to life scenes from some of the milestone productions and programs from Noel’s life, giving viewers a lively and moving look back at his storied career.

Featured Artists Show
Sonya Yassa and Ellen Lindsey will present a two artist show in Gallery 23, Spanish Village daily through Aug. 31. Margaret Rangel will show in the Alcove area. Sonya paints landscapes in oils using only black and white. Ellen also paints landscapes but with full color. Margaret will have small paintings of animals and landscapes.
