Ukranian drag queen hits the American market by storm in vaudeville drag

NEW YORK – Andrey Danilko, also known as Verka Serduchka, is a Ukranian artist, producer, writer, comedian and drag queen. For the past twenty-five years, he has been actively engaged in creative work, creating a distinct style of his own by combining elements of folk and electronic music with vaudeville and stand-up comedy.

Serduchka’s most recent work includes an appearance in the comedy film Spy starring Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Jason Statham. Serduchka is readying to put out a new single and ep as well as gearing up to star in several new Hollywood films to come.

Born in Poltava, Serduchka was encouraged by his mother to take part in music and art. He received first place for Best Actor’s work in the competition “Kursk Anomaly” and his popularity grew until he made his television debut via “Cheese” in 1994. He began to star in commercials as Verka Serduchka and was soon performing in front of sold-out audiences. Serduchka worked on his craft and collaborated with music producer Yuri Nikitin and wrote his debut single “Just Vera,” which eventually led to an extensive tour throughout Russia.

As his music career flourished, Serduchka performed at the National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama, as well as several gigs in New York City. Serduchka has garnered several awards, such as two Golden Gramophones and Muz-TV’s “Best Album.”
