ReadOut, a program of the Multicultural LGBT Literary Foundation will host Lambda award winning author Rahul Mehta 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7 at the Malcom X Library, 5148 Market St. in San Diego.
As a young writer and an openly gay Indian man, Mehta brings his keen insight and fabulous wit to his debut collection of short stories, Quarantine. Come spend an evening learning about this young writer’s work and be prepared to be moved. Mehta is definitely one to watch out for!
Rahul Mehta received his MFA from Syracuse University, where he was the Cornelia Carhart Ward Fellow. Portions of Quarantine have appeared in New Stories from the South, The Kenyon Review, The Sun, Epoch, Noon, and Fourteen Hills. Mehta lives with his partner in Alfred, New York, and teaches at Alfred University.
