Same-sex weddings are now big business throughout the nation. It’s predicted that LGBT weddings will add an expected $21 billion to the already $70 billion industry. That makes for an almost 25% increase in wedding related purchases. Businesses in California are expected to see an estimated $265 million in new revenue with legalized gay marriage.
Pride Guide® California a Travel, Wedding & Business Resource state-wide publication has announced its Annual LGBT Wedding & Honeymoon Expo will be held Aug. 16, at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, 333 W. Harbor Drive in San Diego. “There is a major increase of engagements in the California LGBT Community just in the last year, and now with nationwide same-sex marriage. A recent survey in same-sex couples in California reported 38% have just married or are planning to in the next year,” said The Pride Guide® Publisher Michael McFall. The Pride Guides® have been producing LGBT Wedding Expos for over three years. The first was in Phoenix and we are now producing expos in San Diego, Albuquerque, Tucson, Denver and Orange County, CA.
The Pride Guides® felt in order to help its readers who are planning their special day, they would provide an LGBT friendly wedding & honeymoon expo, thus eliminating the fear of discrimination or being turned down by a wedding service provider because of their personal beliefs. “We have found an amazing amount of LGBT friendly wedding service providers who really want to serve our community but did not have a source to reach out to the LGBT community,” stated McFall. “We are the engine to help these providers reach the market in print, online and now with our expo.”
They will be performing Pop-Up Weddings for attendees who would like to tie the knot at our event. As always, they have fabulous prize giveaways for paid attendees, a cake dive, bouquet toss, live entertainment and cash bars. The $5 online/$10 at the door fee gives attendees an opportunity to win. Additional raffle tickets will be available during the expo.
