Tuesday night, St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral lit up its facade in rainbow colors.
In a ceremony overseen by Cathedral Dean, The Very Reverend Penny Bridges and attended by Councilman Todd Gloria, City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez and Pride Executive Director Stephen Whitburn, history was made as St. Paul’s became the first Cathedral in San Diego to light up in rainbow colors in celebration of LGBT Pride.
“We are celebrating not only San Diego Pride, but the SCOTUS decision as well as the Episcopal Church’s General Convention to place same-sex marriage on an equal footing with traditional marriage”, said Bridges.
