Today Hillary Clinton debuted a video expressing her support for marriage equality rights in America. While many LGBT leaders anticipate a Supreme Court ruling in support of marriage equality within the next week, the Clinton Campaign launched the video to bring into stark contrast her position versus that of her potential Republican opponent.
Some in the LGBT community are expressing a desire for Clinton to step forward on other issues including the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Support of marriage equality is no longer considered courageous for a Democratic presidential candidate, that ship sailed with President Obama. The LGBT community expects greater leadership on issues important to them but Clinton is trying to establish a beachhead with the community.
