Monday, HRC will exclusively premiere the first episode of ABC Family’s trans-focused docu-series, “Becoming Us.” 
The groundbreaking series, from Ryan Seacrest Productions, centers on Carly Lehwald’s transition and the teenage son, Ben, and his journey to understanding his parent’s transition.
Additionally, the series follows Ben, his family and his friends as they support one another.
Trans-visibility has rapidly increased over the past year. A recent national HRC survey revealed that 22 percent of likely voters personally know or work with someone who is transgender, and, of that group, two-thirds expressed favorable feelings toward them. That’s up from 17 percent who said they personally knew a transgender person just a year ago.
