The first trailer for Dan Savage’s highly anticipated sitcom The Real O’Neals has been released.
The Real O’Neals is billed as a fresh take on a seemingly perfect Catholic family whose lives take an unexpected turn when surprising truths are revealed. Instead of ruining their family, the honesty triggers a new, messier chapter where everyone stops pretending to be perfect and actually starts being real.
The Real O’Neals stars Martha Plimpton as Eileen, Jay R. Ferguson as Pat, Noah Galvin as Kenny, Matthew Shively as Jimmy, Bebe Wood as Shannon and Mary Hollis Inboden as Jodi.
The Real O’Neals will premiere on ABC in the 2015-2016 season.
Savage first made the announcement about the sitcom in late January, with the show originally formatted as a semi-autobiographical, single-camera comedy about the activist’s young life. Savage is serving as an executive producer of “The Real O’Neals,” though the story itself evolved in “a different direction” during development, according to Deadline.
