Ride

Reunited for live dates to the delight of their loyal fans, Ride are the band who slammed the door firmly shut on the (by then) flailing ’80s pop movement and paved the way for bands like Primal Scream and Oasis to shine in the Britpop era. The Oxford four piece: Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence ‘Loz’ Colbert and Steve Queralt last took to the stage in the U.K. as special guests to Oasis at the Brighton Centre in December 1994. It has taken twenty years for an official reunion to materialize, and fans have been pining for Ride to get back together ever since.

Young Art 2015: Visualizing Music

Among the many art education initiatives at The San Diego Museum of Art, no program has as long a history as Young Art. In its 85th year, the Museum’s biennial student art exhibition takes inspiration from The Art of Music (Fall 2015), the final of the Museum’s 2015 exhibitions. Included in this larger program, Young Art 2015: Visualizing Music features artwork by Kindergarten through 12th grade San Diego County students. Exploring the creative connections between visual art and music, student selections will be displayed alongside several works around the same theme from the Museum’s Permanent and Library Collections.
