Do you know someone who is raising the bar for excellence in the legal profession? The LGBT Bar is looking for unsung heroes, champions of justice and others who deserve to be treated like a V.I.P. The National LGBT Bar Association is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists, and affiliated LGBT legal organizations. The association promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity.
Nominations are now open for The LGBT Bar’s most prestigious annual awards. Help The LGBT Bar find the best experts and young professionals in the movement so they can give them the recognition they deserve. Review the categories below, and send The LGBT Bar your nominations.
The Dan Bradley Award
The Dan Bradley Award, the LGBT Bar’s highest honor, recognizes the efforts of a member of the LGBT legal community whose work, like Attorney Dan Bradley’s, has led the way in our struggle for equality under the law. Dan Bradley was the first chair of the American Bar Association Section of Individual Rights and Responsibility’s Committee on the Rights of Gay People (now the Committee for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity). Dan Bradley saw the law as a powerful instrument of social justice, and he believed that lawyers had an obligation to place their skills as advocates at the service of the least powerful among us. The recipient of the Dan Bradley Award will be recognized during the Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair.
Nominations must be submitted by Monday, May 11, 2015, no later than 5:00 pm EDT.
