Is it time for a Dolce & Gabbana boycott?

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana

Can’t wait to get that next Dolce & Gabbana outfit or luxury accessory? You may want to think again. Following an interview with Italy’s Panorama magazine in which Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana declared, “The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed,” LGBT news Italia is calling for a boycott of the iconic brand.

“This attack towards the LGBT comunity differs in no way from the one that started the campaign to boycott Barilla, ” states lgbtnewsitalia.com. ‘We therefore invite you all to join the campaign launched by LGBT news Italia to boycott the D&G brand #BoycottDolceGabbana.”

Dolce & Gabbana are no strangers to controversy. The company has had to pull ads in both Britain and Spain for their controversial content. In Britain the Advertising Standards Authority in 2007 criticized the company  for an advertising campaign showing models brandishing knives. In the same year Spanish authorities complained about a Dolce & Gabbana ad that showed a man holding a woman to the ground by her wrists while other men looked on. The company pulled the ad.

Dolce & Gabbana have also faced tax evasion charges in Italy which began in 2009 when they moved some 249 million Euros in assets out of Italy into Luxembourg. The pair were finally cleared of tax evasion by the Italian Court of Justice in October 2014.

  1. My Jesus send these clowns to hell. How dare they equate the marketing of their rags with the depiction of brutality against women. May they see the light of true Christian love.

  2. May Jesus forgive you for your hate, Mara.

Also, these two boys are just backlashinf since about a billion people think they’re a gay couple. Poor insecure little boys.

  3. Let’s do it and boycott their brand. I personally already cancelled one one one of their headphones.

  4. D and G are allowed to express their own opinion. I don’t agree with them in totality, but I can’t stand the lockstep mindset that prevails today.

  5. Ignorance and greed. Yeah they should totally stick with those convictions. I’m sure Jesus would be so proud.

People like to blame the bible for their ignorance and hate, but Jesus would never have been like that. Jesus was kind even to the whore and never spoke out against the gays. Get your facts straight.

    1. Thank you for that. That’s exactly what the bible teachings call for, love one another, spreading compassion to all people no matter what or who they are. It’s NOT about spreading HATE.

  6. Done! Clothing and cologne are in the trash. This is the biggest evidence yet of how incidious homophobia is in society. Even within our own community.

  7. … can’t wait for D&G to announce their profit … let’s see how many “traditional” families can afford to keep this fashion ship afloat.
Meanwhile this family will be skipping D&G. I wouldn’t want my wife and our kids walking around in clothes that stink of Stone age mentality. Apparently my brother’s marriage and kids are not traditional enough.

  8. Boycott all you like. There are so many more people who are so happy to hear this news that they will buy D&G even if they never have before, just to support them.

  9. What a disappointment. I’d like to know how to help galvanize a boycott and help these two uppity gays realize their ignorance. As for the their products in my home… It’s going in the trash. I wish I had my money back.
