PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Buzz was high for the fourth annual Palm Springs Fine Art Fair (PSFAF), drawing over 14,000 savvy collectors, museum curators and art lovers from throughout the nation. The dazzling 4-day event showcased important post-war and contemporary art from over 300 renowned artists with individual pieces selling for up to $400,000. It was reportedly the largest tourist weekend ever in Palm Springs, as this 2015 President’s Day weekend included the launch of Modernism Week, the Tour de Palm Springs, a visit from the President Obama, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair, Valentine’s Day and more.
“This weekend is the best, and perhaps only, art, design and architecture gathering of its kind in the world,” says Rick Friedman producer of the show, “Every day during the show I had people tell me this is the best art fair in California, but there isn’t another weekend that includes Modernism Week with the great art scene in Palm Springs.”
Art critic and museum curator Peter Frank said, “The Fair has variety and surprise; two qualities I look for in a fair.” With 66 respected art galleries from 7 countries and 33 cities exhibiting, PSFAF had a record year as thousands of enthusiastic art lovers and savvy collectors flooded the Palm Springs Convention Center in search of artistic treasures.
