Ireland Prime Minister Shows Support of LGBT Community

The Prime Minister of Ireland, Enda Kenny, showed his support for the LGBT community in Ireland by attending a Christmas party at a famous gay bar in Dublin. Kenny attended a holiday event at Pantibar, a drinking establishment owned by Rory O’Neill also known as Panti Bliss. The Prime Minister was joined by the Children’s Minister of Ireland, Dr. James Reilly.

Activists in the country hope that the Prime Minister’s attendance is a signal of support for the gender recognition bill, family relationship legislation, as well as same sex marriage. The “get together” was sponsored by the Fine Gael LGBT group.

Enda Kenny shares his first name with US LGBT rights legislation called the Employment Non-Discrimination Act or ENDA. How could he not be supportive?
