I always hope that Lifetime’s celebrity biopics will be good or so bad they’re good, but they usually fall between the two. This week’s entry is two hours about the short life of ‘90s R&B star Aaliyah, who sold a few million records before dying in a plane crash at 22. Hopefully, they’ll use her amazing creepy marriage to R. Kelly at 15 to good effect, and hopefully Alexandra Shipp, playing the singer, can recreate the iconic dance moves from the videos for “Try Again” or “Are You That Somebody?”
