Join the Hillcrest Wind Ensemble (HWE) as they celebrate the holidays, Saturday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4190 Front St., next to UCSD hospital. “Suite for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble,” “Suite for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble,”The evening’s line up will feature music of Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year. Selections will include a “Christmas Pop Sing Along” and the more profound medley of “Russian Christmas Music”. The concert will also feature the “Rhapsody For Hanukkah” and rousing Viennese music to ring in the New Year.
Under the direction of John Winkelman, the 45 piece ensemble is in its 28th year of performing and is a program of The LGBT Center acting as a musical ambassador to the community as a whole.
