Watch: Transgender star, Jaila Simms, releases debut music video

LOS ANGELES – Transgender musician Jaila Simms, also known as Jaila With An “I” today released a music video for her debut single “Loving Ya’.”

“Loving Ya’” is the first single off her upcoming EP Best of Both Worlds It was produced by Titus “TJ” Hooker (Keri Hilson), with additional guitar by Alex Kramer(Jason Derulo).

The music video was filmed in Los Angeles and produced by Ben Shallenberger for B.S. Productions.

“I want to release this video to show that we can truly live our dream in living color” says Simms. “Not only do I want listeners to enjoy my tunes, but I’d like them to become a part of my world, just for a while.  They are able to leave their problems, situations, and burdens, to enter a world of pure bliss and imagination.”

Jaila Simms made history as the first transgender person to win a reality show on MTV’s Making His Band in 2009. Since then, she has toured with acts such as Diddy Dirty Money, penned hits for mega-pop artists including Robin Thicke, and works closely with her mentor, R&B Diva Faith Evans as creative assistant for film, stage, and television projects.

Earlier this year, she released a video with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) for National Coming Out day chronicling her life’s journey and stressing the importance of living openly and embracing yourself through any transition.
