CHULA VISTA – Speaker of the California State Assembly Toni Atkins has endorsed Steve Padilla for Chula Vista City Council, Seat 1.
Speaker Atkins said, “Steve Padilla has a proven record of building consensus and getting things done. I am proud to endorse Steve Padilla for Chula Vista City Council because he will create safe neighborhoods for all Chula Vista families.”
Atkins’ endorsement adds to the growing list of broad, bipartisan support for Padilla that includes the San Diego County Democratic Party, the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, Chula Vista Police Officers and Firefighters, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, Congressman Juan Vargas and more. The Speaker of the Assembly is considered one of the three most influential voices in Sacramento.
