Michael Sam headed to Dallas Cowboys

According to a report in the Huffington Post the Dallas Cowboys plan to bring in Michael Sam, the first openly gay player ever to be drafted into the NFL, for a physical on Wednesday with the intention of signing him to their practice squad.

Sam, who came out as gay back in February 2014 in interviews with The New York Times and ESPN, was selected by the St. Louis Rams with the 249th pick in the seventh round of the 2014 draft.

Sam did not make the Rams’ final 53-man roster last week. He also failed to make the Rams’ 10-man practice squad.
