NEW YORK — KollideTV has announced the launch of their inaugural Webisode World Cup Webseries Challenge. This competition will highlight the best webseries created by and for multicultural audiences. The competition will be a platform for creators of episodic video content to showcase their work for a chance to have it produced, marketed and featured during an upcoming season on KollideTV.
To be considered, entrants over the age of 18 can submit one (1) episode of a webseries between July 7 and 18. Each webisode must: be directed, written, produced or feature someone who is either Black, Hispanic, Asian or LGBT; be no less than 5 minutes but no more than 12 minutes in length; be in English or have English subtitles; and not have any exclusive broadcast deal/agreement with any digital platform or television network.
“The Webisode World Cup is our way of supporting the many talented content creators that are developing episodic content around the globe and giving them a chance to showcase their work in a fun and exciting way,” said Lateef Sarnor, CEO and Founder of KollideTV. “We believe many of them just need a platform and the marketing/distribution expertise we can provide to make their show successful.”
KollideTV will select the top 16 submissions. Each week, beginning July 21, 4 submissions will go head to head to see who gets the most user votes. The highest vote getter in each of the four weeks will compete for the final prize. The grand prize winner will be selected based on user votes. The Webisode World Cup Webseries Challenge winner will get their webseries produced, featured and distributed on KollideTV, including being featured in a KollideTV marketing & promotion campaign.
