Join in the fun to kick off this year’s 25th annual AIDS Walk & Run San Diego, a program of The San Diego LGBT Community Center. Some of San Diego’s hottest food trucks will gather at The Center, and will donate a portion of their sales to support the event. Stop by The Center and catch Calexico Creamery, The Juice Wave, the InSlider SD, New York on Rye, Two for the Road and other great food trucks, all in support of this important community event.

Fresh Paint California : a plein air art exhibition

Fresh Paint California is the third annual invitational plein air and studio landscape art show presented by the La Jolla Riford Library Art Gallery. The exhibition will showcase some of California’s finest plein air painters, including Ken Auster, John Budicin, Mark Fehlman, Robin Hall, Carolyn Hesse Low, Ken Goldman, Raye Anne Marks, Rita Pacheco, Ray Roberts, Randall Sexton, Jim Wodark, Toni Williams, Jeff Yeomans and Patricia Jasper Clark. Plein air artists paint outdoors to capture the spontaneity and transience of light as it is reflected on the natural world.

DNA of Creativity

Using the disciplines of art and science equally and collaboratively, The DNA of Creativity will bring awareness to important global and local concerns that require creative solutions. Over a two year period nearly 40 artists and scientists have been working together to develop this exhibition and future initiatives resulting in four teams: Sea Changes: ACT, Urban Succession, PolyAesthetic Mapping: the Muses (PAMM) and View Art Now. Through the documentation of each team’s project, this exhibition will educate visitors about how creativity happens while inspiring environmental activism and fostering discovery and learning in the field of art and science.
