The 2014 San Diego County Fair begins Saturday, June 7 through Sunday, July 6 (closed Mondays and the first two Tuesdays) and promises to be a rockin’ Fab Fair! They’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first visit to the United States of America, sparking the British Invasion in music and pop culture, and even influencing today’s musicians. Here comes the fun!

An Orphan Car is: “any marque or brand of vehicle produced by a company that has discontinued business entirely.” The name is often confused with a brand that is terminated while the parent company continues to exist (e.g. Pontiac, Oldsmobile,etc.) True orphan cars are brands like Packard, Cord, Auburn, Pierce-Arrow, Hudson, etc.)

Guerrilla Pride

San Diego’s second annual Guerrilla Pride weaves queer-themed workshops, a community meal, live music and a radical art show into a fun and educational event for Southern California’s queer community. It kicks off with workshop-style discussions from 2-6 p.m., exploring often ignored and cutting edge topics including: “Queer People and the Prison Industrial Complex (PIC)”, “Queering Sex: Consent and Beyond”, “Sexism in the LGBT Community”, and “Undocuqueer Struggles: Immigration in the LGBT Community”. This will be followed by a community meal at 6:30 p.m. and ends with live music until 10 p.m.

Multi-platinum, Grammy nominated recording artist Gavin DeGraw and acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson are making a stop at Humphreys Concerts on their co-headlining 2014 North American summer tour. Matt Nathanson has long been a fan favorite with his vivid songwriting, infectious melodies and dynamic live shows. His latest album Last Of The Great Pretenders has been hailed as the ‘Album of the Week’ by USA Today adding “he has a way of drawing people into his stories.” Fans can expect to hear DeGraw perform songs from his acclaimed fourth studio album, Make A Move, including the hit single “Best I Ever Had” and his latest smash “Make A Move.”
