LOS ANGELES — Dario, the openly gay pop star featured by San Diego LGBT Weekly in March will debut his highly anticipated sixth album, Evolution, this Tuesday followed by a star studded CD release celebration in Hollywood May 4. The event will include opening performances, one of which will be from the season three X Factor stand out Lorie Moore who most recently received rave reviews for her live performance at the 2nd Annual RealityWanted TV Awards and is also openly gay.
Evolution comes nearly two years since Dario’s last CD release and a year after his sleeper hit reality show, Dario Undiscovered ended and is proving to be one of the most anticipated. The Contemporary R&B/pop album started at the bottom of the iTunes and Amazon charts as a pre-sale. In a matter of days Evolution hit the top 100, then the top 50, and broke through the Top 10, hitting number four.
In 2013, the former American Idol contestant who has opened for Beyonce` in her Destiny’s Child days filmed his trials of the music business for the reality show, Dario Undiscovered which was broadcast online its inaugural season. The show was originally slotted to go to a television network for season two, but Dario declined so he could focus on Evolution.
Dario has already secured24 tour dates nationwide, 19 of those include Pride shows, most of which he is headlining or co-headlining. The first stop is New Hope Pennsylvania Pride May 17. Dario will be performing at San Diego Pride July 19.
