Diversionary Theatre kicks off rehearsals for the darkly depraved carnal love tale of ‘Thrill Me’

San Diego — Two wealthy college kids and a contract signed in blood. One obsessed with crime, the other with sex. Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story is based on the shockingly true tale of the infamous couple Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb set in 1924 Chicago.   The dangerous and titillating musical production draws on Leopold’s 1958 parole hearing as the framework to dramatize the series of events that led two wealthy law students to be forever remembered as ‘the thrill killers’.  Diversionary Theatre is impassioned to indulge in a darker aesthetic by bringing the electrifying and critically-acclaimed piece to our audiences.

Thrill Me will make its San Diego debut with Diversionary’s upcoming production, however it has been produced in cities all over the world, including Seoul, South Korea (Korean Best Musical Award nom.); Melbourne, Australia; (Green Room Award nom.), Seattle; Philadelphia; Buffalo; Chicago (Jeff Award rec.); Los Angeles; Dallas (Column Award winner); Orlando; Tampa; Boston (IRNE Award nom.); Richmond; San Francisco & Sioux City and was featured on the PBS national broadcast of the Drama Desk Awards.

“There is no production that is more intelligent, atmospheric and haunting than this.”  – UK Sunday Telegraph
