Today, March 31 is the deadline for people to enroll for insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. If you or someone you know doesn’t have health insurance or wants to look at other coverage options, check out www.healthcare.gov today. And act quickly, because if you don’t enroll by the deadline, you won’t be able to enroll until 2015!
Through the Human Rights Campaign President Obama has sent a message urging those who haven’t signed up to do so today:
The message follows:
Hey —I wanted to provide an important update on our efforts to get Americans health care coverage.
You know how important it is to make sure every American has access to affordable health care. You’ve done such great work so far, but we can’t stop yet. After open enrollment ends on March 31, you won’t be able to get covered through the Marketplace until 2015.Now is the time for people to get covered.I know life is busy – and after all the troubles with the website early on, some folks have been hesitant to give it a second chance. But the website is working great now: We’ve signed up more than 6 million Americans already, and more are signing up every day.But we need your help. Here’s what we know: People like you having conversations with your friends and family will make all the difference.
The deadline is today. Our health is way too important to ignore – nobody can afford to just cross their fingers and hope for the best.Thank you for all your hard work,President Barack Obama
