SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee (SF Pride) is now accepting nominations for Community and Organizational Grand Marshal for the 44th Annual Celebration and Parade which takes place June 28, 29.
Grand Marshal nominations opened at the January General Membership meeting Tuesday, Jan. 14 and will close after the February General Membership meeting Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Nominations are being accepted for:
- Community Grand Marshals
- Organizational Grand Marshal
- Recipient of the Pink Brick Award
Community Grand Marshals are local heroes (individuals living in the nine-counties of the SF Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties) who have made lasting contributions to the SF Bay Area LGBTQI community, or, as LGBTQI individuals, contributed to the welfare of the Ally community.
An Organizational Grand Marshal shall be a nonprofit or not-for-profit organization that has made significant contributions to the LGBTQI community or the LGBTQI movement for equality.
The Pink Brick Award Recipient shall either be an individual, organization, business, or other entity that has caused serious harm to the LGBTQI community or the LGBTQI movement for equality.
When submitting nominations for Community Grand Marshals, please include a contact for the nominee, as well as a brief description of their important contributions.
Suggestions should be sent by Feb. 11 to gmnominations@sfpride.org indicating the category (Community, Organizational, Pink Brick) for which the individual or organization has been nominated.
