SANTA ROSA, Calif., — Last month the first residents moved in to Fountaingrove Lodge, the nation’s first LGBT-friendly continuing care retirement community for LGBT and straight individuals. More than 600 people joined award-winning developer Oakmont Senior Living in November to celebrate the grand opening of the 10-acre retirement campus located in Santa Rosa, just north of San Francisco. The community is currently 65 percent reserved with seniors from locations that include California, Florida, Maryland and London.
“Our vision for Fountaingrove Lodge is to provide a diverse group of seniors a meaningful retirement in a community of friends, and a continuum of high-quality care that allow residents to comfortably age in place even as health changes,” said Gena Jacob, senior marketing director. “We are extremely pleased that so many people support our community, and are happy to welcome its new residents.”
Fountaingrove Lodge is outfitted with craftsman-style features and architecture, and offers independent and assisted-living options for its residential spaces ranging in size from 830 to 2,000 square feet. Each residence features high quality accents including stainless steel appliances, stone fireplaces, 10-foot ceilings and spacious bathrooms.
“As a full-service retirement campus, Fountaingrove Lodge provides a wide range of resort amenities and services that offer the very best in retired living,” said Heidi Charette, executive director. “From gourmet meals to a glass of wine in the wine cave, we have taken great care to provide the highest quality of life.”
Fountaingrove Lodge is adjacent to a championship golf course, and features hiking trails a fitness center, pool, indoor and outdoor dining areas, library, pet park, movie theatre and activity rooms. Chauffeured transportation, valet and concierge services are also available.
As the first LGBT-friendly retirement community to provide continuing care, Fountaingrove Lodge offers a host of customized assisted living services, including emergency response, health assessments, housekeeping and temporary in-home care.
