Spring exhibition spotlights Ray Street Artists

Art in the Garden, an exhibition of artwork by Ray Street Artists, will take place at the home of Lisa and Rich Tear, 6112 Waverly Avenue, in La Jolla, Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. Ray Street Artists are a group of painters that meet at The Art Department, an artist’s studio and gallery in the San Diego’s North Park neighborhood.

“Ray Street Artists published their first book of original art this year and this exhibition is part of the celebration of the book,” according to Ari Kate Ashton, mentor and founding member of the group.  “Members of the group have exhibited in major shows throughout the state and their pieces are hanging in galleries and homes throughout the country.”

Abstract and Figurative artworks in varied mediums will be presented on canvas, wood and metal.  Amongst the paintings, fine wine and appetizers will be served.  Entertainment will be provided by local musician, Mike McGill. Admission is free.

Exhibiting artists include: Ann Golumbuk, Jan Lord, Sheila Daube, Lisa Tear, Tricia Skoglund, Vanessa V Hofmann, Ari Kate Ashton, Lesley Anderson, Patricia Harris, Patric Stillman, Lorraine Iverson, Wilna Wolf and Shirin Nikoukari.
