Among the many wonders of cable is that we get BBC America, which runs the best of British television for the amusement of Americans. I adore watching The Graham Norton Show, which is the U.K. version of Ellen, Leno, and Letterman combined into one. Last week, for instance, he had Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Paul McCartney and Katy Perry on at once – on the same couch, riffing on each other. Norton, who is a wonderfully funny out gay man, handles his daily superstars better than any talk show host in the United States. And unlike Ellen, he makes gay jokes, a lot.
