Gordon Bashant art exhibition
These paintings mostly represent a series of watercolors from various sites in San Diego. The colors are exaggerated and fauvist. The structures are distorted for a feeling of action. The paintings are often united with India ink applied with a turkey quill. Others are nautical with the same whimsical style.

Hillcrest Farmer’s Market
Voted the best Farmer’s Market in San Diego, the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market consists of 140 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown in-season fruit, produce, gifts, arts and crafts and flowers. Many of the local farmers participating in the market grow their produce organically or with no pesticides. The market also hosts a large variety of prepared food and hot food items with an emphasis on international cuisine. Additionally, each week, there are a large number of arts and crafts vendors participating, as well as weekly entertainment performed by Shawn Rohlf and the 7th Day Buskers, a local folk band.

Biloxi Blues
Winner of the 1985 Tony Award for Best Play, Biloxi Blues is the second in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Neil Simon’s trilogy which began with Brighton Beach Memoirs and concluded with Broadway Bound. When we last met Eugene Jerome, he was coping with adolescence in 1930s Brooklyn. Here, he is a young army recruit during World War II, going through basic training and learning about life and love along with some harsher lessons, while stationed at boot camp in Biloxi, Miss. in 1943.
