Nashville based pop artist and equality activist Holly Elle performed at the Atlanta Pride Festival earlier this month alongside Bonnie McKee and Steve Grand. Holly Elle has long been a supporter of LGBT rights as well as an advocate for anti-bullying so performing at Atlanta Pride was a natural progression for her. Her song “Freak” (watch the video below) was written in response to the growing number of gay teen suicides due to bullying, the music video for her song was featured in The Advocate. Holly looks to provide hope through her music and to encourage others to be proud of their individuality. “This too shall pass. You will get through it. Find your creative outlet. Pick up a guitar, write a poem, learn something new. The list of successful people who were bullied is long,” says Holly.
