The premise of Sleepy Hollow is absurd: Ichibod Crane and the Headless Horseman are suddenly brought back to life in modern-day Massachusetts, and they are linked to a massive, supernatural worldwide conspiracy. The ridiculousness works, mostly because of Tim Mison as Crane; he is arch and serious and very funny as he tries to deal with being an 18th century fish out of water. As the straight man in the form of his partner-in-policing is Nicole Beharie as Lt. Abbie Mills, a Scully to his Mulder. The plots are silly but they are written and directed with conviction. It’s pretty wonderful pulp.
