STOCKHOLM — Live and Let Love is a message to the Russian LGBT-people that they are not alone, but also an urging to Russian leaders to choose love instead of hate and fear when making laws to rule over people’s lives, their human rights, and above all, their love.
Oct. 6, Live and Let Love will gather 2,000 people in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium in Sweden to sing the Russian National Anthem, while rainbow flags are raised in solidarity with the Russian LGBT community.
Footage of the crowd singing at the Olympic Stadium will be cut together with other singers and musicians from around the world who will also be lending their voices to the Russian National Anthem.
There will be a South African choir, a Japanese Punk rocker, a Californian jazz ensemble, Swedish pop band Alcazar, internationally renowned choirs and musicians from all over the world. The film ends with thousands of singers joined in the Stadium singing the end chorus with all their passion and love.
The film featuring the various performances will be sent to media around the world and uploaded to YouTube in January 2014, a month before the Sochi Olympics.
