Lance Bass has teamed up with two special costars – his rescued dogs Dingo and Foster – for the “Adopt, Don’t Buy” People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) campaign in which the pop icon encourages everyone who’s looking for a new canine or feline friend to adopt from an animal shelter. The PSA shows Bass reclining happily with his beloved dogs and features the words “Buying animals is killing animals. Save a homeless dog or cat—always adopt and never buy.”
Six to 8 million unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year in the U.S., and half of them must be euthanized simply because there aren’t enough good homes for them. Buying an animal from a pet store or breeder robs a homeless animal of a chance at adoption and encourages sellers to acquire more purebred animals. For more information, please visit peta.org
