Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon
The Helen Woodward Animal Center is hosting its annual fundraising event featuring games, pet vendor booths, costume contest, food and of course, surfing competitions. Owners and their pets will participate in 20-minute heats based on the dogs’ weight class. They will be judged on their ability to stay on the board, ride the wave and have fun. First, second and third-place winners will be awarded in each weight class. All first place winners from each weight class will move on to the finals.

Edward Haswood: Images From My Native Self
Join Sophie’s Gallery for a look at Native American art with Edward Haswood. Edward is a Native American artist who lives and works in Flagstaff, Ariz. Born in 1963 into the Navajo Tribe at Window Rock, Haswood consistently refers to reservation life, ceremonial activity, and tribal symbology in his work. Most of his artwork depicts Navajo and Hopi traditional cultures, but he also draws inspiration from many other tribes. Edward’s most powerful images are self-portraits that reveal an experienced and poetic spirit.

Fast Thoughts for Short Attention Spans
Space 4 Art presents Fast Thoughts for Short Attention Spans featuring the works from three Southern California artists: Joshua Callaghan, John Kilduff and J. Noland.
