Due to ill-health folk legend Ferron has cancelled all upcoming concert appearances including her scheduled appearance at San Diego IndieFest 8. The nature of Ferron’s ill-health has not been disclosed.
Festival organizers announced that Bitch will be replacing Ferron.
Bitch first burst onto the scene when her band, Bitch and Animal, toured with Ani Difranco in the U.S. and Europe and released two albums on Difranco’s label, Righteous Babe Records, the first of which The LA Times named “one of the top ten most important albums of 2001.” She’ll be performing with her new duo, Beach, alongside Billie Joe Cavallro (aka Alligator), who collaborated with Bitch on the documentary film, Thunder, about Ferron.
Bitch will join a headlining bill alongside CAKE, Talib Kweli, Best Coast, Phutureprimitive Pumpkin, and breakout gay YouTube star, Steve Grand.
