CHULA VISTA, Calif. – It is family fun for all at this not to be missed festival! This will be a diverse cultural celebration of LGBT community, their families and friends accompanied by live entertainment, dancing, art, food, a wine and beer garden, children’s garden and much more. South Bay Pride Art & Musical Festival will be held at the Bayfront Park in Chula Vista right by the South Bay Harbor on Marina Parkway, Saturday, Sept. 14 from 12-5 p.m.
Enjoy the Art (of Pride) in the Park exhibition with unique works of art including, but not limited to, sculptures and picturesque paintings crafted by community locals. Headlining the main stage is Sue Palmer – “Queen of Boogie Woogie” and her Model Swing Orchestra. Featured emcee is Laura Jane.
The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus will also be performing. The Full Strength Funk Band will be creating and recreating authentic funk music as it was originally conceived prior to the disco era. The newly founded indie rock band, The Social Animal will also be appearing.
The Children’s Garden, will feature an array of engaging and educational exhibits and activities. In addition to the family events, there will be Mo’s Playground Wine and Beer Garden, near the main stage, which will feature famed brands from all over San Diego County.
Sponsored by the South Bay Alliance Association, the all-volunteer organization works to build a coalition of the LGBT community and allies for social networking, business promotion, and political awareness in South San Diego County. This event is one of many put on by the association promoting community among LGBT and their allies.
