‘Fighting for Equality in the Workplace’ community breakfast: July 12

A Better San Diego, a coalition of community, faith and labor groups that seeks to build a better San Diego by addressing and demanding action on the important economic issues that face our communities is hosting a distinguished panel July 12, the Friday of Pride weekend, as part of its monthly breakfast series.

The tremendous progress toward finally achieving full equality continues, both overall and in the workplace. From the end of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the naming of Harvey Milk Street to the recent Supreme Court decisions on the Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8, momentum continues to build for full equality.  Speakers will discuss how we can build most effectively on recent successes, and what battles are next? Speakers will include:

Rep. Scott Peters

Stampp Corbin, publisher, San Diego LGBT Weekly and LGBTweekly.com

Delores Jacobs, CEO, The San Diego LGBT Community Center

A Better San Diego Community Breakfast will be at the Sherman Heights Community Center, 2258 Island Ave. in San Diego 92102 starting at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be provided and the suggested donation is $5.
