The San Diego Museum of Art has selected three nationally recognized musicians: Danny Green, Joshua White, and Mark Dresser for the Jazz Residency Project. During their residencies, each musician will explore a single topic or theme critical to their work over the course of three concerts. Each concert includes a unique repertoire and ensemble. On these Thursday evenings, the galleries will be open all evening and snacks and beverages will be available from a no-host cash bar.

This show is the culmination of The PGK Dance Project’s annual Summer Intensive collaborating with guest dancers and choreographers from across the U.S. and abroad performing and presenting work.

The critically acclaimed company will perform new work by award winning Choreographer, Artistic Director Peter G. Kalivas; Creole and Garifuna set by Denese Enriquez of The Belize National Dance Company and The PGK Dance Project Too performs work by choreographer Viviana Alcazar. Guest Performances by Freespace Dance/NJ and new work by guest choreographers Joanna Tan and Michael Nickerson-Rossi on guest dancers are also included on this full evening of new dance by one of the most innovative, forward thinking dance companies around.

Turn Up the Heat Fashion Show

Heat Bar and Kitchen is hosting a Turn Up the Heat summer fashion show and luncheon this Saturday complete with plenty of food, fashion and music. The fashion show will display current vintage retro looks by Edith Ernestine Fashion & Lifestyle and Cat Lewis’ Sew-Cal Designs with music compliments of The Matthews Co. Featured stylists include Morgan Freeman, Jeanelle Rosete and Carrie Gonzales.

The Heat Bar and Kitchen will provide a seasonally inspired, all natural lunch crafted from local fresh ingredients and a complimentary cocktail during the show. All proceeds from the show will benefit The San Diego LGBT Community Center.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific is one of the most enchanting musicals of all time. Set in a tropical island paradise, South Pacific tells the sweeping romantic saga of two parallel love stories that are threatened by the realities of war and prejudice.     The three films use light versus darkness as a running theme,
    producing some dramatic lighting contrast. I said there are as many as 3 people
    in this and there are.
