Chris Brown’s gay conversion therapy

Despite a contentious relationship with the LGBT community and twitter flame war with R&B recording artist Raz-B over allegations that he was secretly a closeted homosexual, Chris Brown hopes to mark a change in his career this Monday with the release of his new single “Don’t Think They Know” featuring Aaliyah.

Speaking on Twitter, the combative and highly successful recording artist announced the launch of his Unity Campaign “which encourages all races, genders, sexes, (everyone) gay or straight to love each other!” Furthermore, Brown explained, “As a young inspiration to all types of people around the world, I have a moral obligation to let go of grudges or bs.”

The stylish black and white video set in Compton, uses the refrain ‘they don’t know about us’ to suggest that despite what others might say or how others might judge, the love between two people is real regardless of the colors, races or genders of the participants involved. But as RollingOut.com, which first reported the story, correctly observes, one has to do some serious digging to ferret out an explicitly pro-gay message.

Chris Brown is regarded with disdain in much of the LGBT community not only because of an altercation he had with openly gay R&B sensation Frank Ocean but because of his failure to join a near universal standing ovation for Ocean at this year’s Grammy Awards. But despite his reputation as homophobic, Brown was also seen warmly embracing the flamboyant Elton John at one of the after parties.

And despite the troubles he is having with Ocean – the L.A. County Prosecutors office is still weighing charges against Brown – the singer was also on record for Tweeting the following: “”My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is ……… Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS.”
