A new video Year 7 Self, from Minus 18, Australia’s largest support network for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) teens provides a new perspective on the fight against homophobia.
The video features seven adults addressing their younger selves, expressing how saying things like “that’s so gay” and bullying kids who may be different is not right because one day your brother or family member may come out to you, or your best friend might end up being gay.
The recently posted video came with the message, “Just because we’re straight, doesn’t mean we have to be narrow. You’re going to have people in your life who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans … and that’s a pretty awesome thing.”
