SAN DIEGO – San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory (SDYS) invites new students of all levels to audition for its music programs. Registration is open until 5 p.m. Friday, July 26.
Now holding auditions for its 68th season, SDYS provides a platform for aspiring youth to excel under the leadership of passionate and challenging conductors. SDYS welcomes ages 8 to 25, from beginners to pre-professionals, to its Balboa Park Programs, including 7 orchestras and 4 wind ensembles. Year after year, these ensembles provide students with the pride and enjoyment of performing at top San Diego venues, including Copley Symphony Hall, alongside friends who share their dedication to and love of music.
There are also many other musical experiences available at SDYS including Concerto Competitions; side-by-side performances with musical partners, La Jolla Music Society, San Diego Symphony and San Diego Master Chorale; and the annual International Youth Symphony co-hosted with Rotary International.
“Music has truly enriched my life in countless ways. It has given me a way to express myself as well as brought me joy in everyday life,” says SDYS student Jasmine Wang in a recent article “Inspired by Music’s Power” in the UT San Diego’s Night and Day.
