The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble will present its 2013 spring concert, Touring the Continent: Music of Europe Saturday, April 13 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church near UCSD hospital. Concert time is 7 p.m. and will feature music from the British Empire, France and Germany.
The band will also perform the three winning pieces from their Call For Scores composition contest: Pulse for Pulse, for soprano and wind ensemble by Costas Dafnis; Gems of Discovery by Richard Williams and Purposeful Play by Harry T. Bulow.
This is one of the more challenging programs attempted by the 45 piece ensemble which is in its 27th year of performing.
