The Voice and Viewpoint homophobic attack on 4th District City Council candidate Dwayne Crenshaw is an attack on all of us … period.
I call upon all elected officials, civic leaders and communities to take a stand. Speak up as the silence of so many is even more harmful.
There are gay and lesbian elected public officials that include our district attorney, City Council president, state Assembly majority leader, County supervisor, School Board vice president, judges … all homosexual … all San Diegans.
All have been advocates for the good citizens of the 4th City Council District.
Dwayne Crenshaw is a qualified candidate for City Council and, yes, there are indeed other qualified candidates, but now if I lived in the 4th District I would vote for Crenshaw.
The 4th District is made up of a majority of Latinos, second African Americans then Asia Pacific Islanders.
As a person of color I hope my fellow brothers and sisters will send a strong message on Election Day against the homophobic views made by the Voice and Viewpoint.
Now is the time for the GLBT community to stand with Dwayne with financial support and by volunteering. 619-681-3769. Dwaynecrenshaw.org
Dwayne Crenshaw is not a leader and is not deserving of the support of our community. He has not once acknowledged that he is a gay candidate and is a sad excuse for an executive director of any organization. I think it’s curious that when he gets FIRED from a “main stream” nonprofit he only then finds safe haven in a gay organization. If anyone read this paper last week they would know that Dwayne accepted funds that were not meant for him. How Nicole Murray Ramirez can endorse this man is a mystery because he has done nothing for anyone but himself, the whole pride organization has been constantly riddled with everything from law suits to scandal why is the San Diego community even ackowleding this person as a candidate let alone a member of our community. If this man runs the city council the way he runs the organizations he has worked for, brace yourself San Diego, welcome back to the Enron by the sea days.
We are a group of volunteers and opening a new scheme in our community. Your web site provided us with valuable info to work on. You’ve done an impressive job and our whole community will be grateful to you.
