SAN DIEGO – More than 50 local restaurants and bars have already signed on for the seventh annual Dining Out for Life® San Diego, set for Thursday, April 25.
“Each year we are blown away by the generosity we receive from our local restaurants and bars for this truly community-based fundraiser,” said Ian Johnson, Dining Out for Life® San Diego coordinator. “We are so grateful for the continued support of our participants and for those who are joining for the first time this year. Their willingness to give to this effort makes a real difference in our efforts to fight HIV in San Diego.”
Annually, local businesses who participate in Dining Out for Life® San Diego generously donate a minimum of 25 percent of their food and liquor sales from that day to support HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs at The San Diego LGBT Community Center.
This year, some establishments are going well above and beyond. Burger Lounge – Hillcrest has made an extraordinary commitment to donate 100 percent of its sales on that day to Dining Out for Life® San Diego.
Again this year, Adams Avenue Grill has announced it will contribute 50 percent of its proceeds, and will extend its participation beyond just the day of Dining Out for Life® San Diego, extending their 50 percent donation period from Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28.
In addition, Barrio Star, Wang’s North Park, Mariposa Ice Cream and Gang Kitchen have pledged to contribute 50 percent to support HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs at The Center.
There is still time for interested businesses to register for this year’s Dining Out for Life® San Diego. Early registration is encouraged so that restaurants can appear on promotional materials.
Restaurant sign up forms and information are currently available by contacting Johnson directly at ijohnson@thecentersd.org or 619-692-2077, ext. 247.
Love it! It is so important to support all of the local businesses that give back to the community.
