Cheli Mohamed to leave San Diego Pride

SAN DIEGO – San Diego LGBT Pride announced today that Cheli Mohamed will be leaving her position at Pride and moving on to serve as the Corporate & Operations Manager of the California Police Athletic Federation.

“Cheli has added more to our organization and in turn to our community than most will ever realize,” said Stephen Whitburn, Interim General Manager of San Diego LGBT Pride. “Through her 20 years of service with Pride her vision, drive, and determination have inspired a generation of volunteers and community leaders.”

“I am so proud of how this organization has moved from a once a year event to a year round force of good for our community,” said Araceli “Cheli” Mohamed. “I am forever grateful for the love, support, and friendship our community has offered me and Pride.”

Cheli Mohamed currently serves as the Leadership and Community Resources Director for San Diego LGBT Pride. Her last day is with Pride will be Friday, February 15, 2013.

Volunteer registration for Pride 2013 is expected to be up and running by next week.

In the interim period volunteer inquires will be handle by Cathy Hemphill.
