Hershey Felder’s An American Story
For this new production, Felder will create the role of Dr. Charles Augustus Leale, the 23-year-old unknown Union Army medic who was the first individual to reach the presidential box at Ford’s Theatre on the night President Lincoln was shot. Mrs. Lincoln then put Dr. Leale in charge to see the president through his last hours.
