Tina Leight-Roades has resigned as Director of Pride @ the beach and a board member of North County LGBTQ Resource Center.
Citing family and health demands Leight-Roades announced her resignation in an email addressed to ‘Community Members.’
From the email:
“It is with a great deal of sadness and thought that I announce that effective Thursday, November 15, 2012, I will no longer be Director of Pride @ the beach and a board member of North County LGBTQ Resource Center.
After being a part of the North County San Diego LGBT Community for 6 years, I have seen so much progress being made. I joined the Coalition in early 2008 while it was still a very young organization meeting at Hill Street Café in Oceanside, CA, shortly after, I became the Marketing Director. During that time, I created a professional image through a logo, website and the use of marketing tools. Later, the Coalition became a nonprofit and created social programs like Dance 4 Equality, Transgender Day of Remembrance, and then Pride @ the beach. In 2011, our work enabled us to open the North County LGBTQ Resource Center – a dream come true. At that time, I took a short break from being a board member before coming back as the Director for Pride @ the beach.”
The Board of Directors for the North County LGBTQ has instigated a search for a new Pride Director.
