Footloose

Lang Lang plays Beethoven’s Emperor

The Jacobs Masterworks season opens with international piano superstar Lang Lang performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s immortal Emperor Piano Concerto, under the baton of music director Jahja Ling. Maestro Ling and the orchestra open the concert with Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture, and conclude the program with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Hillcrest Hoedown

Hillcrest presents the second year of the Hoedown! Embrace the fall season with this inspired street festival in the heart of eastern Hillcrest. The Hoedown will feature a grand stage with a country-themed line up all day long, and line-dancing lessons on the hour. Stay past dusk and hit the casino tables in the free streetside saloon where cowboys and cowgirls will be dealing up blackjack, craps and roulette, and DJ’s will be spinning country-style dance music.

Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel rose to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis. After leaving Genesis, Gabriel went on to a successful solo career. His 1986 album, So, is his most commercially successful, and the album’s biggest hit, “Sledgehammer”, won a record nine MTV Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards, and the song is the most played music video in the history of the station.

Good People explores whether we can all have the American Dream in this funny and insightful new play. Contains strong language.
