Lance Bass; I would love for an ‘N Sync reunion to happen

Lance Bass

(CNN) – No need to feel alone ‘N Sync fans – Lance Bass wants what you want.

The singer told CNN that he doesn’t at all mind the constant inquiries from fans about whether he, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick will ever get back in the studio or hit the road as a group again, because he misses ‘N Sync too.

“It just shows me that the ‘N Sync fans are still there and there are even new generations of them,” Bass said. “I think it’s just wonderful. It keeps our group alive and that makes me happy.”

Not that he’s sitting around waiting on it. Bass just launched his own show, “Dirty Pop with Lance Bass,” on SiriusXM, and said it’s the culmination of a longtime dream. As a kid he was a huge fan of legendary radio personality Wolfman Jack.

“Growing up in Mississippi my dad had all of his records and I had a record player I was obsessed with,” Bass said. “So I grew up on that old school, DJ, just kind of goofy show. I thought it would be amazing to do, but I never thought I would have the opportunity.”

That didn’t stop the young Bass from using a tape recorder to host his own “countdown” show, and he thought about the dream often when he and the group would visit radio stations to promote their music.

He said he was thrilled when the president of SiriusXM approached him about starting his own show. Bass said he’s having a blast so far on the call-in show where fans can expect to hear everything from former teen heartthrob Aaron Carter‘s “confession” of his admiration of him to other personal details.

Bass, who famously came out as gay in 2006, doesn’t mind being open about his life, including his friendship with Bravo executive/host Andy Cohen.

“He’s been a friend of mine for years,” Bass said. “He has definitely been a make-out buddy of mine before, but it stops there. We are just friends.”

But back to the burning question: When can we expect that ‘N Sync reunion?

“I would love it anytime,” Bass said. “But I think that with Justin being a movie star right now it will be some time before he can even get back in the studio.”
