Ann Romney says no to Values Voter Summit

Ann Romney will turn down down an invitation to speak at this weekend’s Values Voter Summit, held by the Family Research Council (FRC). BuzzFeed reported that the Romney campaign told them that there were no plans for Ann Romney to attend or speak at the conference. HRC, who joined a number of other human rights groups yesterday in calling on public figures not to speak at the event because of FRC’s long track record of spreading hateful, untrue, and dangerous lies about the LGBT community, also reported that Ann Romney would decline to speak.

Vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, however, has been confirmed as a speaker.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has designated the FRC, as a hate group.
